      Here is where you can get all the latest information specific to KSC Recreational League. Check back frequently to stay current as the season progresses. Use the left hand menu to get specific information.

      The Kokomo Soccer Club offers a recreational soccer program to anyone wishing to play the game with an emphasis on fun and skill development in a reasonably competitive environment. Anyone can sign up at one of the registration dates that takes place in the spring and fall of each calendar year.

     Recreational soccer matches will be held at the Kokomo Soccer Club fields Tuesdays through Saturday throughout the season. Schedules will be determined following registration period each season.

      The U6-U10 age groups play only against other KSC teams, so there is no travel required. The U12 through U15 age groups may play other local clubs such as Taylor and Northwestern.

Recreational Fees

There are two registration options for Recreational soccer.

  1. Single season (either Fall or Spring)
    The fee for a single season is $65. The team is formed prior to the fall or spring registration session and plays a single season.

  2. Two season (Fall-Spring)
    The fee for two seasons is $95. The team is formed prior to the fall season and stays together through the spring season.

There is a family discount of $5 for each additional family member who registers.

Players who registered for only the Fall 2013 season, may continue with their team in the Spring 2014 season by submitting the difference between the Two season fee and the Single season fee(previously paid). Family discounts do not apply to continuing registrations. All registrations received after February 26, 2014 will be assessed a $10 late fee and will be placed on a wait list. Those on the wait list will be placed only if openings are available.



Guidelines

Small Sided Games

     The Kokomo Soccer Club uses small sided games for community soccer matches. By using smaller fields and smaller team sizes, players have more opportunities to contribute during each soccer match. Click here to view the match specific details for each of our community soccer divisions.

Team Formation

  • Teams will be coed.
    • Age cutoff will be July 31. See the Age Chart to determine which division the player will be placed. Click here for age chart.

  • Teams will be formed with the goal of balanced teams. Rankings are supplied by coaches. In absence of rankings, players will be allocated by:
    1. Age
    2. Gender
  • Children of the head coach and assistant coach will be placed on the same team. No other requests will be honored for team rosters.
  • For U6 and U8 divisions, no standings will be maintained.
  • For the U10 division and above, standings will be maintained in order to establish seeds for a year end tournament. The teams will play a single elimination tournament and the first and second place teams will receive trophies. Only KSC recreational teams will play in the tournament.

Gear For Players

  • No jewelry is allowed during games or practices. This includes watches, earrings, and necklaces. Medical bracelets are allowed but must not be a danger to the player or other players.
  • Shinguards must be worn underneath socks for all games or practices.
  • Shoes or soccer cleats must be worn. Football cleats are not acceptable unless the front, toe cleat is removed.
  • Casts are permitted for the recreation league. They must be covered and padded in such a way so not to endanger other players. It is at the discretion of the referee to determine if the protection of the cast is acceptable.

Coaches

  • All volunteers must complete a background check. The form must be completed online and is found on the Forms page.
  • All head coaches will receive a blue Kokomo Soccer Club t-shirt and are expected to wear it to all games. Additional t-shirts can be purchased by assistant coaches or family members.
  • In the U6 and U8 divisions, there are no referees assigned for matches. The head coaches are responsible for whistling infractions.
  • Coaches in U10 and up are requested to remain on their teams side of the midfield throughout the soccer match. No one is to be behind the goals during a match.
  • Coaches should play each player at least half the match.

Referees

  • In the U6 and U8 divisions, there are no referees assigned for matches. The head coaches are responsible for whistling infractions.
  • For the U10 division and higher, the Kokomo Soccer Club will assign referees for matches.

Conduct

All visitors to the Kokomo Soccer Club are expected to abide to Code of Conduct below.

  1. Youth soccer should be a fun experience for all players. Encourage our players with positive comments and continuous support.
  2. All spectators are to sit on the opposite side of the field from players and coaches during soccer matches. Lines will be painted along the touchline and all spectators are to remain behind the line for safety of players, referees, and spectators. No one is to be behind goals.
  3. Spectators are to remain off the playing field unless asked by the coach to attend to an injured player.
  4. Spectators are to be respectful of players, coaches, referees and other volunteers during matches at the Kokomo Soccer Club. If behavior is inappropriate, individuals will be asked to leave the property by coaches, referees, or Kokomo Soccer Club league officials.
  5. No dogs are permitted on the Kokomo Soccer Club fields. Persons with service animals are exempt.
  6. No smoking is permitted at the Kokomo Soccer Club fields.
  7. Adults should be good role models for children. Good sportsmanship should be exhibited by all players, coaches, referees, and spectators.


Volunteers

     It takes a lot to run a club and we could use your help!

     We need volunteers to help with everything; picking up trash, mowing the lawn, marking the fields, concessions, coaches, referees, and coordinators. Help make a difference, contact us today and ask how you can help!

Weather Policy

For the community league, the weather policy is as follows. If lightning is spotted or thunder is heard, any referee or Kokomo Soccer Club board member can suspend play.

  1. If a game has not started, it will be delayed for up to 30 minutes. If it has not started within 30 minutes of the original start time, the game will be canceled and it is the responsibility of the coaches to arrange a make-up time.
    1. For U6 and U8 games, the coaches should arrange a time that is mutually convenient.
    2. For U10 games and above, the coaches should arrange a time that is mutually convenient and then contact the Kokomo Soccer Club Referee Assignor to schedule officials for the match.
  2. If the game has started and is past halftime at the time of the delay, the game is over and score stands.
  3. If the game has started and is not past halftime at the time of the delay, the game should be stopped. The score and game time should be recorded. The remainder of the game that day will be cancelled. The coaches will arrange to make up the rest of the game, if desired.
    1. For U6 and U8 games, the coaches should arrange a time that is mutually convenient and make up the remainder of the match.
    2. For U10 games and above, the coaches should arrange a time that is mutually convenient and then contact the Kokomo Soccer Club Referee Assignor to schedule officials for the match. The match will be resumed from the point where it was stopped. The score from the suspended match is carried forward.
